![]()
Together Dreams Can Come True
You are invited to Join Westcare, Dreamfit Foundation & Ride Aid for Cambodia for breakfast on 3 December 2009 in support of International Day of People with a Disability (IDPWD)
This collaborative event leverages the power of each organisation and is committed to raising the awareness of the abilities of people with a disability.
The Event – Josiah’s Bicycle Challenge
Josiah is a 9 year old boy who was born with no arms. His dream was to ride around on a bike with his mates. Dreamfit has developed an engineering program that will turn Josiah’s dream into a reality.
How is this Possible?
With sponsorship & mentoring from Engineering Companies, six UWA Engineer Design Student teams have been selected as finalists in the first stage of the competition to design and build a bicycle specifically for Josiah.
The teams will unveil their designs at the IDPWD breakfast where a judging panel will select the winning team and present that bike to Josiah.
The International Component
The remaining five bicycles will be presented to Frank Surgener, President of Ride-Aid Cambodia. These bicycles will be delivered to Cambodian children who have lost limbs through land-mines and birth defects.
